Pulak Dah! Lagi Penderma Kepada Najib Dikesan.

There is more than one source for the RM2.6 billion donated to Umno president Datuk Seri Najib Razak, according to party vice-president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

He confirmed this when reporters asked whether there was more than one donor who contributed to the RM2.6 billion total, following confusion in statements by some Umno leaders and authorities investigating the donation.

"More than one donor. Plural," Zahid said at a press conference at the party's assembly today.

At a closed door briefing on December 8, Najib had reportedly told Umno leaders that he had used the money on the party and did not take one sen for himself.

In his policy speech at the opening of assembly today, he reiterated that the funds did not come from troubled state investor 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).

Past statements from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) said that the source of the funds was from the Middle East and that they had already met and interviewed the donor.

A few weeks ago, Najib had also been questioned by the MACC over the funds.

In August, Zahid had told the press that he met with the chief investment officer of the donor and financial trustee of the donor's family.

Zahid had said the donation was made because of Malaysia’s commitment in fighting terrorism and upholding the teachings of the Sunni school of Islam.

The donation continues to be the sore point with Najib’s critics such as his estranged deputy in the party, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, who have questioned why the money was not put into the party’s accounts.

Opposition parties have also repeatedly brought the issue up in Parliament, while former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has often attacked Najib over the matter. – December 10, 2015.
